Beachy Brunch: Geoffrey’s Malibu

?>
The drive to Geoffrey’s Malibu on the PCH is one of the best drives you could ever experience. If the weather is behaving or not, to your left (if driving from Venice) is a beautiful view of the California Oceanside. Malibu has many beachside spots but I had read the Geoffrey’s Malibu had the best view, and that was no lie! Plus, you have to have seafood if you’re eating on a shoreline!

We were a little concerned we wouldn’t get the best seat, since we came here on a busy Sunday brunch, but look at the view to your left. That was the view we scored, in fact, I can’t imagine there’s any “bad view” here. All of their patio seating had a breathtaking view. My favorite items are below and I cannot wait to come back!
We started off with a Mimosa and the Golden Beet Salad with  Herbed Goat Cheese, which was a perfect portioned appetizer to split. The Goat Cheese looks like a smaller portion, but it spread out among the beets evenly. I’m also a sucker for candied walnuts.

This is Geoffrey’s Lobster Quiche, this was a risky choice for me since I’m not usually a fan of quiches. What makes this dish stand out to me is the Lobster Vanilla sauce. I never considered mixing the two together, but it creates a sweet and salty perfection. Also, Geoffrey’s Lobster Quiche’s crust is light and wonderfully buttery. The egg mix was baked to a perfect texture as well. I also love that they pair their items with a light mixed green salad, so you leave feeling stuffed to a miserable degree.

My Mom ordered the Seafood Paella and thankfully, she shared some with me. Prawns, Mussels, Manilla Clams, Scallops, Chorizo, Chicken and Saffron Rice are stewed in a Seafood Broth with a light blend of veggies.

Actress and Founder of Girls on Food: I was born and raised in the suburbs of Sacramento, California. I grew up a typical “McDonald’s kid”. I was very picky about what I ate and refused to try new foods. No fun, I know. My Mom started taking me on trips to Europe when I was a teenager and that’s when my palate for finer foods began to develop. Some of my most memorable favorite meals include Veal Bolognese in Rome, Gyros in Athens, Paella in Lisbon and Duck L’Orange in Paris. While this helped me grow out of a fast food phase, I still eat out quite a bit. I know I should be at home cooking, but I love dining out. I started working in restaurants in various front of the house positions at age 15. Since my start, I’ve worked in every casual restaurant setting you can think of: a teriyaki stand, brewery, sushi nightclub, trendy Mexican, family-style Italian, American diner, pizza parlor and even a BLT themed food truck. I can't help but notice that many of the LA food bloggers don't have any sort of background working in a restaurant. A lot of my perspective on food and dining out comes from my years of experience in the biz. Since starting this blog, I have shot appearances on a couple of cooking competition shows as a taster (including MasterChef Junior and another upcoming show). We have also started producing a Youtube Channel. IMDb page here: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm2023647/ For this site I contribute content from all over Los Angeles (and the world) to showcase my favorite fine-dining spots, steakhouses, exclusive supper clubs, Hollywood nightlife and our very own #GOFx events, which I plan and coordinate.
