This is not a joke or an April fool; Macy’s Culinary Council is hosting world renowned blogger, James Beard nominated author, and recipe developer Gina Homolka of Skinnytaste on Saturday, 4/1 at 1:00 pm. Culinary Council is a collection of spectacularly talented chefs, pastry chefs, and food professionals that travel throughout the country and hold various tastings and demonstrations in Macy’s all over the U.S. Check with your local Macy’s to see if any are happening near you!
Demo attendees will listen to Homolka dish about some of her favorite “skinny” recipes as well as get to sample them.
The event is free, but RSVP is required. Tickets are unfortunately, already sold out, but stay tuned for an upcoming post re-capping the event! RSVP’d guests get a $10 Macy’s Gift Card upon check-in at the event. In addition, if you want to refresh your kitchen with a few goodies from the Macy’s Housewares department, guests that spend $35+ at the event will receive a copy of Homolka’s latest book which she will personally autograph!
I’m so excited to go, it’s always nice to learn more about dishes that are not only flavorful and substantial, but nutritious as well. I know it may be hard to believe, because the East Coast was bombarded with almost 20 inches of snow recently, but it’s already mid March and bikini weather isn’t too far away. These recipes would be of help those of us who might be working towards being Summer ready *cough*, and maintain those of us who already are.
